I would like to propose to other 'net steelers with knowledge of steel guitar history that we can create a WWW Steel Guitar Timeline!
I have started a graphic timeline with links
to pertinent articles/pix etc. featuring facts and allegations
about the development of the "playing of the guitar with
steel in the Hawaiian manner," electrification &
amplification, development of tunings, development of pedal changer
mechanisms, major artists in various musical genres, articles
on Brad's Page of Steel, Quasar Steel Guitar Pages, and others,
my own possibly libelous musings, and more!
Many entries are kind of an outline, anticipatory for links/articles yet to come... AND YOU COULD CONTRIBUTE ! Really! I'm NOT KIDDING!! I WANT YOU TO CONTRIBUTE!!!
If you have the inclination to write a review of a seminal steel guitar recording or a bio on a fave picker or an essay on the historical melange into which this uniquely American instrument fits,
I will be glad to edit it into the timeline!!
If you know of a link to a Web site that seems appropriate, please let me know!! Believe me, I need all the help I can get!
